Louis Tomlinson attended the Pride of Britain Awards along with fellow X Factor judges, Simon Cowell, Ayda Field, and Robbie Williams as well as host Dermot O’Leary. They presented an award to a young girl named Ella. From Pride of Britain:
@PrideOfBritain: Our 2018 Child of Courage is the inspirational Ella Chadwick. After spending most of her young life in hospital, Ella was determined to do something to thank the doctors and nurses who looked after her. Ella was eight weeks old when she was diagnosed with congenital nephrotic syndrome, a rare kidney disease, and has spent much of her life in hospital. She’s endured six years of dialysis, 40 operations and a kidney transplant from her dad Martin in 2010, which was rejected. Despite these challenges, Ella is determined to support the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, competing in charity runs to raise money for other sick children. She also made 250 brightly coloured get well cards with the hand-written message: “Hope I made you smile. Love Ella.“ After that, to celebrate her tenth birthday, and a decade of being a patient at the hospital, she set herself the challenge of running 10km of races in a year. She completed her goal this summer after crossing the finishing line at the Mini Great Manchester Run with five of her friends. So far, Ella has raised more than £3,000 for the hospital. Jessica Ruth, of @RMCHcharity said: “Everyone who meets Ella is blown away by her positivity and courage. It is inspirational how determined she is to give back to the hospital.
