Earlier this year, Louis Tomlinson's Ask Anything Chat was posted where he answered various questions about music, his dog, and tattoos. Ask Anything Chat is the first chat platform created to maximize an artist's social media with their fan base. Ask Anything Chat allows the artist to answer unique fan questions from all over the world in an environment of comfort chosen by them.
In this video segment, fan Marlene from Denver asked, "How does a song become a song? Do you find yourself being inspired at the randomest times?" Louis said, "Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I've written quite a few song titles on the toilet. You got a lot of time there. You're on your phone. So that can be a thought-provoking time."
He added, "Other than that, I think it does come to you at random times, but sometimes I think if you're trying to search for it too much and trying to force it, it makes things a lot harder. So, it's kind of better to let those things happen naturally...on the toilet."
Louis is a prolific songwriter, having written on 37 of One Direction's songs, his own solo efforts such as Miss You and Just Like You, and several tracks that have been registered (either for others or himself).
Louis is currently finishing up his debut album, with an expected release date of 2019 and a possible single release later this year.
Louis just charted this week at #2 on Billboard's Emerging Artists Chart. He also re-entered the Top 100 Artists chart at #71. The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week. The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, of the week.
While finishing up his album, Louis is also appearing as a judge on X Factor, which started airing this past week on ITV and AXS (in the US). You can catch Louis judging on Saturdays and Sundays on ITV at 8 pm (UK time) and on Sundays and Mondays on AXS in the US at 8 pm (eastern).
