Tonight was the results show where the final four were whittled down to three. Prior to the show Louis tweeted, “Gonna be so close tonight but I know my boys deserve a place in the final. By the end of the night hopefully you’ll agree :)”. He also posted a video of rehearsals.
All the contestants performed one last time. Ayda said she’d eat her weave if Dalton wasn’t in the finals. Robbie thought it was a bit flat. Simon thought he made it his own and that he deserved to be there. Louis said the time for constructive criticism had passed and that Dalton was absolutely amazing.
Acacia and Aaliyah were next then Anthony performed. Robbie called him the “peoples’ champ”. Ayda liked his song choice. Simon was surprised by the results last night but thought he deserved to be there. Louis said he’s been through his own personal battle throughout the whole thing and that he was proud of him.
Scarlett was next. Louis said she’s gone through one of the biggest transformations during the show and hopes she makes it to the finals.
Zara Larsson performed. Then, it was time to reveal who was through to the finals.
Dalton and Anthony had the highest number of votes and made it through to the finals. Scarlett and Acacia and Aaliyah had to do the sing off to determine who would make it to the finals.
After they sang, Simon voted for Scarlett to go through, Robbie voted for Acacia and Aaliyah, Ayda voted for Scarlett, and Louis said it would be criminal if Acacia and Aaliyah didn’t get a record deal after the show but he voted for Scarlett.
Next weekend is the final, which will be both Saturday and Sunday. The performers are said to be the Take That plus Robbie, Nile Rodgers, George Ezra, Ellie Goulding, James Arthur, and Anne-Marie.
After the show, Louis tweeted, “Let me start by saying @brendan_m96 I’m so proud of you. What an amazing performance for you to go out on Saturday with. But onto tonight I can’t thank everyone enough who voted for my boys to be in the final. I can’t quite believe it. So thankful and proud of the lads.”
Then he tweeted his two remaining boys, saying, “@harrisdalton you really are a fascinating guy with unquestionable talent. One of the strongest people I’ve ever met! Bring on the final” and “@AntArtist89 I’ve believed in you since I saw your first audition last year. I know the struggles you’ve come up against and I’m blown away how you’ve taken it all in your stride. Your story is inspirational to anyone with a dream especially those in recovery or considering it!”
