The theme for tonight’s episode was Movie Night.
Gio started off the show singing The Greatest Show from The Greatest Showman soundtrack (2017). In a clip from last week, Gio said, “The legend that is Louis Tomlinson is on my side,” as he celebrated Louis’ positive comments last week.
Of Gio’s performance tonight, Louis said, That was a perfect way to open a show.” He said it felt original.
Dalton Harris was next. He sang California Dreaming by Sia from San Andreas (2015). Ayda said it was always so hard to make comments after his performances because of all the clapping and shouting. Nile said Dalton is next level. Simon complimented how Louis mentored Dalton. Louis commented how people might not know that Dalton sometimes struggles with his confidence but Louis told him to take the reaction of the crowd.
Scarlett Lee sang I’ll Never Love Again from A Star is Born soundtrack (2018). Louis said he likes how she doesn’t just sing the song, she sings with such feeling and emotion.
Brendan Murray sang Everybody Hurts by REM – from Bewitched (2005) and Zootopia (2016). He got standing ovations from Nile and Louis. Simon complimented him for finding himself. Nile loves his voice and said he’s love to record with him.
Louis said it was his best performance of the live shows.
Acacia and Aaliyah sang Survivor by Destiny’s Child from Tomb Raider (2018). They swapped out the song because they weren’t as confident with their original one and Nile hadn’t even heard them do it yet. Louis was proud of them for fighting back after last week and that people forget how young they are.
Bella Penfold was next. Her little brother had come to visit her at the X Factor House. She sang A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Pink version) (2017). Louis didn’t feel like the song represented who she was as an artist but he thought she sang well.
Misunderstood sang Maniac from Flashdance soundtrack (1983). Louis said, “I’m sorry this is the first time I felt underwhelmed by your performance.”
Danny Tetley sang My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion from Titanic (1997). Louis said he did great on the song. He also liked talking to Danny about the clip they showed where he was visiting kids with children who had the same cleft palate condition he does.
Anthony Russell sang Eye of The Tiger by Survivor from Rocky (1976). He talked about how much the song meant to him. After his performance, the audience wouldn’t stop cheering! Everyone agreed it was the perfect song for Anthony and Louis said he was so proud of Anthony.
Shan Ako sang Never Enough from The Greatest Showman soundtrack (2017). Louis said that her performance was absolutely beautiful, but he wanted a better idea of who she was going to be on the outside world.
Tomorrow Olly Murs and Michael Buble will be the guest performers. After the performance, Louis appeared in a video with Brendan and Dalton saying “Team Tommo smashed it!”
Dalton also posted a picture of him and Louis saying, “realdaltonharris It has been a MOST difficult week. I struggle sometimes with believing in my ability to SING somedays but for every day that I feel I had to fight, I made sure to revisit and conquer those thoughts and fears. Tonight was one of those days and nights. I decided to conquer the negative. The negative that said I was not worthy, good enough or being just ME. California Dreaming...naah London and Jamaica dreaming. Big up to EVERYONE”
