Episode 10 was the continuation of the Six Chair Challenge with the Groups and Boys category having their turn. The episode started off with the cliffhanger of Scarlett getting a chair but Simon holding a sing-off. He announced it would be between Georgia and Maria. Louis said, “Oh, that’s tough.”
Both contestants went back to their audition songs with Georgia singing Who’s Loving You again and Maria singing Purple Rain. When Maria finished Louis said, “Wow” and continued, “That vocally was just like a different class. They both deserve a seat.” Simon kept them both and kicked off Jennifer. Louis remarked, “That was just an impossible decision.” So the six girls were Georgia, Maria, Shan, Bella, Scarlett, and Molly.
Next was Ayda’s Overs. She brought up Giovanni. Ayda commented to Louis, “Look what he’s wearing” and Louis replied, “I know,” which was because they had commented on how he seemed a bit dated before and he came out looking like Axl Rose.
After telling him she’d have to give him an overhaul, Ayda gave him a seat, booting out Claire. Afterwards, Louis commented, “That was really hard.”
Janice was up next singing Natural Woman. She got a standing ovation and a seat, with Cezar having to leave.
Danny was up last. He picked the wrong song and she gave him another chance singing his original audition song. Louis said, “Come on, lad, come on.” Danny ended in tears and he got a seat, but Burgandy had to leave. She took the whole seat with her as she left. Robbie stopped her and had her bring her seat to the middle because he had an idea. He brought Panda back onstage and wanted Panda and Burgandy to be a group in his Groups category. He wanted to see their chemistry together so they sang Never Enough. They killed it and will move on as a duo in Robbie’s Group category.
Next was Louis’ Boys category. Louis asked for the audience’s support. He said, “There’s definitely pressure with making the right decision. This stage of the competition is so ruthless.”
Josh!e was first up. The crowd liked the performance but Louis said, “Vocally, I’m not sure it was good enough.” But, he got a seat “for now”.
Nathan was up next. Louis had given him advice during his first audition. Louis told him to fight for it. Louis said, “Nathan, I wanted fight from you and that’s exactly what you gave me there. This one’s an easy one. Go take a seat.”
Tommy was next doing an original song called Dipping Biscuits. Towards the end, Tommy stepped backwards and fell right off the stage. Louis and Dermot ran to see if he was okay.
Tommy was okay. Louis said, “I won’t squeeze you too hard,” as he gave him a hug when Tommy emerged from the pit. “What an ending,” Louis commented. Louis thought it was a great audition and said he really liked him so Tommy got a seat.
Corey was next. Louis said he was fun and he got a seat for now.
Armstrong was next. Before he performed, Louis said, “I really like you. Good luck.” After telling Armstrong they’ve said they weren’t looking for safe or average and that Armstrong did neither there, Louis said, “Yeah, go on, just go sit down actually.” Armstrong cartwheeled over to the seat.
Anthony Russell was next. Louis had mentored the former contestant after he left the show last year. Louis looked on proudly as Anthony sang. Louis said, “Let me just say that I think you and your story are very important to a lot of people in this country who go through their own problems and you are a good example of someone who can come through the other end fighting. Go and take a seat!”
With all the seats filled, Felix was up next. Louis said, “Felix, go smash it.” Unfortunately, it wasn’t a good audition. Louis said, “Felix, for whatever reason, today it just didn’t work. Listen to me for a second. Your tone is unbelievable. When you’re on the money it is brilliant. Unfortunately, I can’t give you a chair today, but I want you to come back because I see so much potential in you. Don’t give up.”
AEO was next. Louis said, “Oh, it’s a difficult one. The atmosphere and the energy brought was completely infectious but I’m looking at everyone who is still to come and oh, it just makes this difficult.” Louis gave him a chair, booting Josh!e from his seat. “It’s hard, this,” Louis said.
Ollie was next singing a guitar version of No Scrubs. Louis really liked him and said his song choices are clever, but he had to turn to the audience. After noting Ollie seemed to have a lot of fans in the audience, he said, “I’ve made me decision. These lot can’t be wrong. You’ve got a seat, lad.” He let AEO go, much to the dismay of the audience.
Next up was Brendan. After Brendan said he’d do anything to get a seat, Louis said, “Go blow us away.” Brendan did just that, singing Everybody Hurts with his higher toned angelic voice. Even the other contestants remarked on how great he sounded.
Brendan ended in tears, overwhelmed by his own performance. Louis asked Brendan to come over so he could have a word, but then Louis ran and hit the golden buzzer, meaning Brendan was through to the Judge’s House.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger as Louis had made a decision on who would be leaving to make room for Brendan.
